Getting to Know Google Earth Engine
Google Earth Engine is a powerful web platform for geospatial analyses. It contains a catalog of remotely sensed data, such as global vegetation and surface water information. Have you ever wanted to learn how to use this powerful tool for your research? The Center for Biodiversity and Global Change is beginning a series of workshops on how to use Google Earth Engine. Software Engineers Ajay Ranipeta and John Wilshire (Map of Life) will be leading the kickoff session, ‘Getting to Know Google Earth Engine’ on November 11, from 4-5pm EST. Participants will learn about both the basic features and biodiversity-related use cases for the platform.
If you are interested in attending this workshop or future workshops in this series, you must sign up for a Google Earth Engine account and do the introductory self-paced tutorials on the platform in advance of the session. Additionally, you can check out the resources of the Marx Science & Social Science Library, which is having an Intro to Cloud Computation session prior to the workshop.
