The newest episode of SEEKER “How Close Are We to Discovering All Life on Earth?” features Map of Life research and its contribution to biodiversity science and conservation. In this episode, Mario Moura and Michelle Duong discuss gaps in our planetary biodiversity knowledge and briefly discuss the nuts and bolts behind the discovery of new species. The episode also includes the efforts of the Conservation Biology Institute Laboratories, Smithsonian National Zoo to cryopreserve samples of Earth’s biodiversity for next generations.
