I am an applied ML researcher who enjoys working on research problems where progress translates to reliable and accessible machine learning in the real-world. This guides my research interests in the fields of computer vision, foundation models, and robotics. I have spent the past decade working at the intersection of AI, climate, and society. This includes leading technical AI safety efforts at Google X, working on applied AI research as a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard, and advising the UK government on AI and climate policy. I also run a nonprofit responsible AI lab called General Purpose. Outside of work, I am a musician and keen champion of the underdog, having co-founded and volunteered with organisations that mentor young people to overcome adversity.
