Areas of Interest
I’m a postgraduate associate in the Jetz Lab at Yale University. I grew up in Beijing, China, and completed my undergraduate and master’s degrees in Biodiversity and Conservation at University College London (UCL). For my master’s project, I worked with Dr. Alex Pigot, studying the distribution integrity of bird communities across Europe using the Grade of Membership model. I also interned at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where I gained valuable hands-on experience in georeferencing and IUCN Red Listing.
My time in the UK provided me with a strong foundation in ecology, and during my studies, I developed a deep interest in species distribution modeling (SDM), a powerful tool for mapping species' ranges. My goal is to produce the most accurate and high-resolution range maps for species around the world. At the Jetz Lab, I’m part of the Map of Life team, where I contribute to visualizing biodiversity indicators and validating species distribution models. My work focuses on synthesizing biodiversity data to guide and support global conservation efforts.
