Areas of Interest

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Landscape Architecture at Tsinghua University with a background of Bachelor of Science (Geography) from Nanjing University and a Master of Science from Tsinghua University in Mainland China. My research focuses on multi-scale biodiversity conservation and bridging the research–practice gap. Specifically, I have developed indicators to evaluate the efficiency of individual protected areas at the national scale to better inform targeted conservation policies. I am also examining the hidden suboptimality of prioritization models and applying this insight to improve priority area identification.
I have experiences on assessing national-scale biodiversity, including identifying cost-effective conservation areas and evaluating wilderness loss due to land-use changes. I also conducted research on urban biodiversity, particularly examining the relationship between urban green spaces and wildlife in my Master period.
In addition to research, I believe that providing policy recommendations is equally important. I have worked on projects where I contributed to conservation strategies as part of third-party think tanks and consulting teams, including planning major projects for protected area system and developing guidance for conservation conflicts in China's national parks.
